I just received the new Hero Surf Cam for my birthday a few days ago and just tried it out for the first time. While conditions this day weren't stellar, the camera performed very well and wasn't washed off during my numerous wipeouts.
Attaching the camera took a bit longer than expected, being that the directions contained no diagrams, but I just used common sense and it worked out.
Set your board up on a chair or some boxes and stand up on your board as though you're paddling or catching waves. Try the camera out in several different spots and make small videos until you find the one that looks the best. Once it's stuck on, your stuck with it.
The directions recommend RainX to help with beading. You need a lot of RainX, unless you want to wipe off the lenses every time you start recording. I found some neat Youtube videos that take you through the menu system so you can customize you preferences. I highly recommend this.
